Число стран, подключившихся к веб-сайту Фонда PFS, увеличилось еще на 26% в первой половине 2014 года

SOMERSET, N.J., July 8, 2014 – The number of nations that logged onto the Post-Finasteride Syndrome Foundation website rose 26 percent during the first half of 2014, according to Google Analytics.

In all, users in 147 countries—or 75 percent of the world (as defined by the 195 nations recognized by the U.S. Department of State)—accessed information on the condition via PFSFoundation.org, versus 121 countries in 2013.

Visits from outside the U.S. now comprise 56 percent of the site’s total annual traffic.

Patient inquiries directly to the foundation, via email and/or phone, reveal the same breakdown: Since the launch of PFSFoundation.org in 2012, 56 percent of all such queries have come from outside the U.S.

Additionally, overall traffic to PFSFoundation.org is up 32 percent for the first half of 2014 versus the latter half of 2013.

PFS has been reported to occur in men who have taken the prescription drug finasteride to treat hair loss (under the brand name Propecia and generics), or enlarged prostates (Proscar and generics).

Reported symptoms include loss of libido, erectile dysfunction, suicidal ideation, anxiety, panic attacks, Peyronie’s disease, penile shrinkage, gynecomastia, muscle atrophy, cognitive impairment, severely dry skin, tinnitus, and depression. The condition often has a life-altering impact on victims and their families, such as job loss and the breakup of marriages and romantic relationships, while also being linked to suicides.

“That people in an additional 26 nations have begun downloading information on PFS from our site over the past six months clearly indicates rapidly increasing awareness of this often-devastating condition across the globe,” said PFS Foundation CEO Dr. John Santmann.
